Academics

Joining a sorority in college is a life-changing experience, but garnering an education is the top priority for Kappa. This is why each chapter is expected to maintain academic standards equal to or higher than their university’s or college’s all-sorority GPA. Additionally, each chapter establishes a GPA requirement for active members. 

If a Kappa struggles academically, we help her through it. The Academic Excellence Team meets with her to craft an improvement plan using study tactics and time management. We want each sister to leave college with what they came for: a degree.

     Kappa promotes an amazing, well-rounded college experience. Scholarship is our first and foremost priority, proven by our members' impressive achievements. Optional study hours are held weekly to encourage our sisters to study together and many sisters are recognized during our meetings for their excellent grades and academic achievements on a regular basis. Epsilon Pi's Vice President of Academic Excellence and her committee ensure all active members not only maintain grades but also motivate and encourage them to be the best they can be academically. Every week the sisters of Epsilon Pi are encouraged to send in "study selfies" to our VPAE in hopes to earn the title "KKGeek of the Week." The constant and endless support in Kappa to do well in school sure does pay off! The Kappas of Epsilon Pi chapter are among UCR's most ambitious and brightest students. Our members are in many honor societies, organizations and clubs, including Order of Omega, Psi Chi, Golden Key, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, University Honors Program, Dean's List, Chancellor's List, and more! Kappa's scholarship program provides an opportunity for academic accomplishments, emphasizing that each member reaches her personal academic best. As a member of Kappa, you are provided with numerous resources to excel academically.
